We believe that youth are our promise for a bright tomorrow and future. First Church Agape Youth Ministry (AYM) is designed to enhance youth spiritual growth and development, showcase their innate gifts and talents, provide positive program alternatives, assist in strengthening and supporting their educational career goals and teaching them that ‘I am my brother’s/sister’s keeper.’ We teach youth to Walk in the Word! Adults from many professional and educational backgrounds volunteer in First Church Youth Ministries, programs and activities. Believing that ‘GOD IS FIRST and NO YOUTH SHOULD BE LEFT BEHIND,’ the Senior Pastor supports and encourages youth participation beginyammeet-300x200ning from the Nursery to High School Senior graduation. AYM focuses on five broad areas: Spiritual Growth and Development, Education, Cultural Enrichment, Youth Outreach, Youth to Young Adult In-Reach and Service and Special Projects. We believe in Psalm 27:11, “Teach me thy way O Lord, and lead me to a level path . . .” Servicing more than one-hundred (100) youth on a weekly basis in the various youth ministries from throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth metropolitan areas, youth, with their parents/guardians, are offered numerous ministry opportunities to reap tremendous benefits from AWANA (Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed) to Sunday School, Music, Vacation Bible School, Boy Scouts, Scholarship and Mentoring, Tutoring, Theatre productions for Black History Month, Easter and Christmas and Liturgical Dance Movement in praise. There are specific ministries that focus on young males (Shepherd Boys and Royal Ambassadors) and females (GA-Girls in Action and TA-Teens in Action) challenges in today’s world.
